Enhanced learning with technology
In order to prepare our students for the 21st Century, technology is readily available to both students and teachers. All classrooms at Tucker are equipped with document cameras and projectors, and most have SMART Boards.
Our fourth and fifth grade students are part of the ACPS 1:1 initiative, and are issued a chromebook to use for daily instruction. Students use their chromebooks to access Google Classroom, through which teachers assign work, post questions which prompt discussion and guide their students through online collaboration.
We also have at our disposal, 246 laptop computers which are housed on mobile carts that can easily be moved from classroom to classroom. Additionally, there is a cart of 25 iPads that students use to practice skills and demonstrate their learning.
Here are some of the online resources we use on a regular basis.
