Adam Carpenter

Mr. Adam Carpenter is Tucker Elementary’s Talented and Gifted Programs teacher, primarily serving 4th and 5th grade students.

Mr. Carpenter is a graduate of the University of Virginia and James Madison University where he received his Master of Teaching Degree and bachelor of arts in Psychology respectively.

After graduating, Mr. Carpenter lived and worked in Osaka, Japan, where he was fortunate to experience different languages, customs, and ideas. During his stay, he developed a love of traveling and has currently been to 13 countries.

In the classroom, Mr. Carpenter strives to give students opportunities to be active problem solvers who must collaborate on difficult tasks. Whether Mr. Carpenter is guiding students through problem-based learning, using math manipulatives to build fraction concepts, or creating engineering marvels in Odyssey of the Mind or during intercession, Mr. Carpenter is committed to promoting critical thinking, creativity, and deep learning in his students.
